ICS Retrofitts Anne Arundel County QRT Mobile Command Vehicle

Stevensville, MD (August 18, 2008) – Incident Communication Solution’s, LLC (ICS) has recently retrofitted the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Quick Response Team’s (QRT) Tactical Command Post with increased emergency communications capabilities. The recent retrofit of the vehicle will enhance the special operations team’s communications across Anne Arundel County and the State of Maryland.

The communications integration package includes a turn-key IP Network with satellite connectivity and radio interoperability solution.  Utilizing ICS’ Tactical-IPSM Broadband Satellite Service, the QRT will be able to access critical information, transmit real-time video back to the county’s Emergency Operation Center and have connectivity no matter location or environment. With the ACU-T tactical radio interoperability bridge, the team can communicate with other agencies on the same incident site regardless of whether they share radios resources or not.

The enhanced electronics packages were integrated into the existing QRT Tactical Command Post which was purchased in 2003 with a Justice Assistance Grant.  The new electronics package was funded through the DHS 2007 LETPP Grant, which seeks to provide resources to law enforcement and public safety communities to support critical terrorism prevention activities.  These prevention activities include establishing and enhancing fusion centers and collaborating with non law enforcement partners, other government agencies, and the private sector.
