Stevensville, MD (August 18, 2008) – The Anne Arundel County Regional Communication Center (RCC) communication capabilities have been enhanced by the recent addition of Incident Communication Solutions’ (ICS) Tactical Incident Communication System (TICSTM).
The TICS system utilizes satellite-based Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity and provides Anne Arundel County first responders with the capability to communicate via broadband VSAT connections under any conditions. The system is a rugged, deployable package capable of being transported to any incident site. The TICS system includes a Cisco Integrated Services (ISR) IP-Router, five Cisco 7961 IP-Telephone sets, and a 1-meter transportable “fly-away” satellite dish. The TracStar P1000 transportable antenna deploys from two transit cases and features auto-acquisition of the satellite, offering first responders a fast setup. Once on scene, typical setup of the entire system takes under 30 minutes
The Regional Communications Center is a back-up 9-1-1 Center for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department as well as the City of Annapolis Police Department and the Annapolis Fire Department.
