Stevensville, MD (August 28, 2008) The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Computer Analysis Response Team (CART) has taken delivery of its first mobile forensics laboratory custom built by Incident Communication Solutions, LLC (ICS).
ICS’ mobile forensic laboratory solution includes a complete customized interior to give CART the ability to conduct forensic examinations on the move. The mobile laboratory feature’s ICS’ VehiclePowerTM solution which provide a seamless and effective on-board AC power platform.
ICS was awarded a contract with the FBI CART to provide up to 8 mobile forensic laboratories. The laboratories are to provide CART with the capability to conduct digital forensic examinations in support of federal, state and local law enforcement investigations. Each unit will be housed in a 2004 Dodge 3500 Sprinter Van with customized infrastructure components and custom installation of specialized equipment, provided by ICS.
The mission of the CART program is to oversee training and certification of Digital Forensic Examiners, in addition to development, support and funding for FBI laboratories. These full service laboratories will provide digital forensic services in support of all FBI and participating agency investigations. The goal of the program is to provide state of the art equipment and furnishings to their examiners to maximize work flow.
