Anne Arundel County Upgrades to TACTICAL-IP

Stevensville, MD (July 1, 2008) Incident Communication Solution’s, LLC (ICS) announces that Anne Arundel County’s Mobile Command & Communications Unit (MCCU) has been upgraded to Tactical-IPSM Satellite services, which will give the county greater means of communications.

"Public Safety communication requires products and service that can be counted on,” said Anne Arundel County Director of Emergency Management Captain Thomas Wilson.  “ICS has provided Anne Arundel County with reliable technology and support for our Mobile Command and Communication Unit.”

The County was looking for a way to significantly scale back its monthly operational expenses, yet retain a robust level of service for their Emergency Management agency. As a part of the VSAT upgrade, the agency will experience much higher throughput rates (up to 3 Mb/s downlink and up to 1 Mb/s uplink) while saving significantly on what they were spending.

“Public Safety Agencies are always concerned about their operational expenses, particularly in light of the current economic situation,” said Steve Morgan, President of Incident Communication Solutions, LLC.  “Our customers need a Satellite service offering that provides superior bandwidth, reliability, and resiliency at a price that is affordable.  ICS designed our Tactical-IP service offering with these concerns in mind.”

The MCCU will now operate using ICS’ Tactical-IP “Responder” Broadband Satellite Service Package which gives the unit full communications capabilities in any situation.  The “Responder” package offers 10 days per month usage for $325 per month.
