STEVENSVILLE, Md. (June 2011) – Incident Communication Solution’s, LLC (ICS) announces that the Maryland Transit Administration Police Command Vehicle (Command-1) has been upgraded to Tactical-IP satellite service, improving the agency’s mobile operations and reach.

The Tactical-IP satellite service upgrade gives MTA Transit Police Command-1 a reliable and economical solution that establishes voice, video and data links from any incident, regardless of location or condition.  Comand-1 will now operate using ICS Tactical-IP “Responder PLUS” Broadband Satellite Service Package which gives the unit full communications capabilities with 5 Mb/s downlink and 2 Mb/s uplink.  The “Responder PLUS” package offers 10 days per month usage for $525 per month.

MTA also will utilize Tactical-Voice™,  Incident Commuincations voice-over-IP solution.  Tactical-Voice uses any available means to connect users to the Tactical-Voice network (i.e. DSL, Cable, Satellite) giving the agency voice service in any situation.

The MTA Police provides law enforcement of the transit networks throughout Maryland.  The Transit Police have the unique challenge of enforcing the law on all five modes of transportation in the State of Maryland: Bus, Metro, Light-Rail, ParaTransit, and Commuter Rail (MARC).
