STEVENSVILLE, MD (February 15, 2011) – Incident Communication Solutions has recently integrated a comprehensive Tactical Video solution into the Solano County (CA) Office of Emergency Services mobile command center network, providing the agency with a public-safety grade wireless video surveillance solution.

ICS has delivered state of the art Agile Mesh video solution to provide Solano County Emergency Services with rapidly deployable, wireless mesh-networked video surveillance.   Solano County took delivery of six single-camera tripod cameras, four dual-camera tripod cameras, a wearable unit, a mast mounted receiver kit installed on the mobile command unit and a mobile vehicle kit. The project also included delivery is of a tactical battery-pack solution providing longer battery life for the tripod camera systems.

Solano County MCV Mast with CameraThe Agile Mesh system wirelessly transmits evidence-grade video from the Area of Operations back to command units using a combination of standard 2.4 or 5.8 Ghz wireless or 4.9 Public-Safety frequencies.  Because the video is transmitted in real-time via an IP-enabled mesh network, multiple parties can have video feeds providing increased situational awareness and actionable information.  Each camera can be individually viewed and controlled for pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ). The streaming video can be stored centrally or decentrally at each viewing point for incident review and investigation.

Solano County Agile Mesh ICS also installed RavenX Cellular modems on several of the single mesh nodes so that the video feeds can also be accessed remotely via a carrier 3G network connection when needed.

Solano County, California is one of nine counties in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The Office of Emergency Services maintains many duties as the primary emergency services agency for the county.  The addition of Tactical Video Surveillance from ICS provides Solano County Office of Emergency Services with state of the art tools to help uphold their philosophy to "be prepared to effectively manage any major emergency or disaster situation that may occur within the Solano County Operational Area".
