STEVENSVILLE, MD (May 2010) – Incident Communication Solutions has recently completed an extensive retrofit of the Howard County (MD) Police Department Command Center.  The custom built interior with integrated communications package and surveillance equipment provides Howard County with a turnkey solution for command, control, and communications.

ICS retrofit of the HCPD Command Center included a complete renovation of the interior of the vehicle.  This renovation brings functionality and cosmetic enhancements to the vehicle.  ICS custom built walls, provided new extensive cabling, storage units, and rack space.  The retrofit of the interior aesthetic components of the vehicle provides the HCPD with a more up-to-date area of mobile command and communications.  

From a communications standpoint, ICS enhanced the Command Centers’capabilities by integrating a turnkey IP-network to include IP-Telephony, Video Surveillance and streaming, and a Smartboard interactive whiteboard.  The added communications to the HCPD Command Center gives the agency an infrastructure that has advanced capability and greater reach.  

The retrofitted Howard County Command Center provides the police department with a highly functional solution that increases communication capabilities and situational awareness at emergencies, mobile deployments, and at planned events including concerts and events at Merriweather Post Pavilion.
