STEVENSVILLE, Md. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has recently taken delivery of a Mobile Command Vehicle with a comprehensive communications package integrated by Incident Communication Solution’s, LLC (ICS).
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), from Jefferson City, MO, took delivery their 40ft Mobile Command Unit, fully integrated by ICS to include satellite connectivity, IP Networking, and various other types of communications. This command vehicle is outfitted with Cisco’s IPICS and Raytheon JPS’s ACU-2000, providing Missouri State Highway Patrol with a comprehensive communications interoperability solution. In addition to the voice communications interoperability, the unit is capable of wireless mesh video surveillance and Video Teleconferenicing with various parties within the patrol as well as other state and federal agencies.
The integration of the MSHP MCV is part of a five vehicle regionalized communications package integration for the State of Missouri. Another large command vehicle was built and integrated for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, while three suburbans were integrated for several fire departments across the State. These vehicles were purchased by means of Homeland Security Grant Funding.
The MSHP MCV is equipped with a Cisco Mesh Access Point which can be used to create a wireless ‘incident area network’ between the vehicles when they are deployed to an incident scene. The access points maximize all available channels, minimize interference from unlicensed devices, and minimize latency or time delay.
